Our large client in the Travel Industry in Bellevue, Washington needs a Sr. AWS Architect / Engineer to get their Business Intelligence (BI) Division’s applications more organized and efficient on the AWS cloud. The divisions AWS Cloud platform was implemented by a team of application developers and now the BI Division wants a hands-on AWS expert to study the current AWS environment, BI applications, business requirements and demands and design and implement a AWS cloud solution that is efficient, reusable and scalable.

The BI applications are built using Tableau, Qlick Sense on a SQL Server database and deployed on site and on the AWS Cloud.
The AWS Cloud Engineer should be able to design and execute architecture blueprints and bring it to reality with a DevSecOps mindset & culture. Candidate should be able to build and configure build plans, code pipelines and create automated solutions that can be frame worked and re-used. Finally, the candidate should become subject matter experts and evangelize the latest technologies and tools to provide better efficiency and solution to the BI team.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
  • Candidate is expected to have four to five experiences using the following technologies:
    AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS EC2, VPC, S3… etc.
  • Communicate in a DevOps environment with your team, managers, business units and stakeholders.
  • Embrace and focus on emerging technology and evangelize to the rest of the team
    Understanding of Agile, DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is strongly desired
  • Needs to have the ability to develop and contribute in an IaC environment while working seamlessly in a distributed team via collaboration tools.
  • Solve infrastructure problems and automate responses for recurring problems
  • Improve automatic responses to system failures to prevent down time
  • Integrate automated testing to support auto-deployment
  • Monitor and respond to production incidents
Qualifications/Minimum Skills Required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps related to continuous integration/delivery solutions and platform automations in AWS cloud environment.
  • Experience designing and deploying container-based solutions using Docker
  • Experience with continuous delivery platforms
  • Architected solutions in AWS using Puppet and/or Beanstalk
  • Familiar with database concepts with the ability to build out DB support in AWS environment.
Preferred Skills
  • AWS certifications or other cloud-based certs.
  • Experience implementing Tableau, Qlick Sense, and SQL Server database on the Cloud.
